Serving the cities and communities of Virginia’s Region 5, the Region 5 Recovery Advisory Council (RAC) is a peer-led advisory group dedicated to advancing recovery-oriented systems of care. Representing nine Community Services Boards (CSBs) and Eastern State Hospital, the RAC works to elevate the voice of peers, support the professional development of Peer Recovery Specialists (PRS), and expand access to trauma- informed, culturally responsive recovery supports.
Through regional collaboration, the RAC provides training opportunities, awards scholarships for PRS certification and continuing education, and leads initiatives that empower individuals and families on their recovery journeys.
