About me
Liliana (Lily) Spurgeon is a bilingual Community Health Worker (CHW) and Peer Support Specialist, using her experience as a first-generation Latina and person in recovery to advocate for historically ignored communities in behavioral health. Lily has worked in several roles and positions within the behavioral health field in Albuquerque. As the Program Coordinator for the UNM Collegiate Recovery Center, the first in New Mexico, Lily brings a culturally informed, community-centered approach that supports long-term success. She is also the Outreach and Marketing Director for the NM Peer Coalition and Soul Recovery Café, both aimed at empowering individuals in recovery. Lily graduated from the University of New Mexico with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and Spanish. She has been offered the opportunity to continue her education by pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration at UNM. Additionally, Lily serves on the Community Advisory Board for UNM's Center on Alcohol, Substance Use, and Addictions (CASAA), among other community roles.
