About me
Sonya Del Tredici, MD, is a general internist specializing in primary care, addiction medicine, and medical education. She earned her medical degree from New York Medical College, completed her internal medicine residency at Robert Wood Johnson-UMDNJ in New Brunswick, NJ, and was chief resident at Princeton Hospital in Princeton, NJ. Dr. Del Tredici primarily works as an academic internist for the WellSpan York Hospital Internal Medicine Residency Program, and runs two addiction medicine “mini-clinics” in primary care offices. She is also the Lead Physician for Addiction Services at WellSpan Health, facilitating addiction medicine projects throughout the health system and training and supporting other clinicians who wish to treat substance use disorder.
Her interests include treating addiction in primary care, evidence-based medicine, research in residency, performance improvement through deliberate practice, and care of vulnerable populations. As well as her clinical and education work, she is the creator and co-host of the podcast “Addiction Medicine Journal Club”, lectures and writes on performance improvement and deliberate practice in music and medicine, and does quality improvement and clinical research.
Outside of work she enjoys her small-town life in Gettysburg, PA, spending time with her family, dog, friends, and vegetable garden.
