About me
Kim Boyd served as the Region 3 Recovery-Oriented Services Coordinator at the Office of Recovery Services/DBHDS for two years before transitioning to the Office of Recovery Services as the Recovery-Oriented Services Manager. Kim identifies as a person in long-term recovery and has worked within the behavioral health system for ten years. She graduated from Ashford University with a Master of Science Degree in 2020. Kim is certified as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist and a Substance Abuse Counselor. She is also a Qualified Mental Health Professional for adults and children, an advanced WRAP and APPR facilitator, and a Peer Recovery Specialist trainer for DBHDS. Kim served as the vice president of the Virginia Certification Board from 2017 to 2021 and on the NAMI of Virginia Board of Directors from 2017 to 2021.
