About me
Denise Carl practiced law for a number of years in Richmond before serving as an Associate Dean at UR Law. In 2016, while searching for local resources for a young friend struggling with substance use issues, she discovered Rams in Recovery (RIR) and soon thereafter stepped into two roles she truly loves – recovery ally and family education advocate.
Denise has completed PRSS, CRAFT, SMART Recovery and Invitation to Change (ITC) trainings. She is a member of the RIR Project Team and Advisory Board, coordinates the weekly Family Education Program offered by RIR and Northstar Community, and is an ITC group facilitator. Denise respects all pathways to recovery, is a harm reduction advocate, and wholeheartedly believes that family education and involvement can play a key role in motivating and sustaining treatment and recovery for loved ones.
