About me
In 2000 Valerie started working in the Richmond area with those with mental health challenges, behavioral problems and family crises. Pastor Valerie has great compassion when it comes to community outreach and bridging gaps. She became certified in 21st Century Creating a Compassionate Community in 2003, and several other accomplishment addressing interventions concerning addiction, gun violence, community safety, identifying healthy alternatives for families, and community engagement.
Valerie was ordained as Pastor in May 2014. Valerie has worked in the Richmond Public Schools as a Qualified Mental Health Professional Supervisor (QMHP-S), a Community Liaison Director for NCS and she is also on the Board for National Family Dialogue, appointed by Governor Glenn Youngkin’s on the Women’s Commission Board, Advisory Committee Board for Juvenile Justice Prevention, and assigned to taskforce to strategize concerning 1st episodes of psychosis with DMAS. Valerie is also on the Trauma Healing Response Network for the Virginia Health Department which focuses on assisting families that have been affected by gun violence throughout Richmond City and surrounding counties. She is an advocate for those who are re-entering back into society and seeks justice for those who have been targeted unjustly and a Certified State Peer Recovery Specialist. Valerie believes in equal justice for all and has dedicated her services by volunteering at Virginia Department of Corrections, educating residents how to re-enter successfully in the community.
Pastor Valerie is the Senior Pastor of Divine Covering Ministry and Founder of 1 Luv, Now Let’s Talk About It! Family Restoration Program which has been impacting communities & families for 20 years.
